When I went to cosmetology school we were warned to stay away from Head & Shoulders, Pert, and any of the blue/green dandruff shamppos from the stores because they will strip your hair of all the natural oils. The instructor even said that those shampoos are really good for removing grease and oil stains from carpet and clothes- I tried using it on a carpet spot of grease and *voila* the spot was out...would you really want to put something that harsh on your head?

Instead use a Tea Tree shampoo- Paul Mitchell has a fabulous one and anymore you can pick that up from Target, Wal-Mart or Meijer's etc.

I'd say its fine to use it every second or third wash and it should still keep you dandruff free - use a nice moisturising shampoo/conditioner on alternative washes. That way your keeping your hair in good condition but also ridding yourself of dandruff. As a note, if you have dyed hair (specifically veggie based dyes such as Special Effects or Manic Panic) DONT use these anti-dandruff shampoos as they can help fade colour quicker - the same goes for many baby shampoos - apparently the ph level is wrong for veggie dyed hair :)

I have used Head and Shoulders shampoo. While it works to get rid of dandruff, the smell of the shampoo is terrible. I can smell it on my hair therefore I feel that everyone around can smell it. I even asked a friend one time and she said she could smell it standing next to me.

I was recommended this shampoo by a hairdresser but not for dandruff. I coloured my hair and hated it and the hairdresser told me that Head and Shoulders would take the colour away. If it does that what the hell does it do to your dandruff? It took some of the colour away. And the condition of my hair was OK

Head & shoulders is very concentrated.
Its good for getting rid of dandruff for time being only!
It will leave ur hair very dry & continious use will damage the hair.
From my experience it doesnt worth that much.
