Getting over a major heartache is one of the hardest things to do. We all go through it at some point and we all deal with it differently. It can take a really long time to get over as well. You do it day by day. You vent, you cry, you laugh at it. Sometimes talking about it helps. Try not to just remember the good, but also keep in kind the bad. I say this because often times when people are going through a break up, they focus on all the good times and it causes them to be more upset. They forget the bad times and end up with a romanticized view of the person. Remembering the bad will somewhat keep this from happening.
Removing items that remind you of the person helps as well. Sometimes you need to shifty your focus and put all of you energy into one thing. Honestly I am doing that right now by being on yahoo answers. I am going through a hard time and this is my way of not having to think about the problem. I have shifted my focus completely into this.

As time goes by you will get more and more "okay" with the heartbreak. One day you will realize you haven't even though about it for months. You just to what you have to do, whatever that may be even if it's just sleeping, one moment and one day at a time.

I would say blowing your brains out would be an option but it is not morally accepted. OK, no suicide next, having sex with a bunch of creepy gang members? No, not good. Looking in the mirroring and crying your eyes out for several weeks at a time? No feeling sorry for yourself doesn't do any good. A life of celibacy. Maybe, but I can warn you that after the first twenty years you may get kind of weird. Masturbating profusely for 12 hours a day? After about a week your genitals will hurt, not a good idea. I guess the best advice is to simply move on and live your life as you normally would.

By distracting yourself. Get into more studies/hobbies/friends/outings and focus on everything but how you're feeling. This too shall pass.

Rebound with someone is the easiest answer. It just usually takes time.
