How can a god exhibit a jealous mentality and still maintain a God-like status?

according to what?
religious books are works of man. Sure they may have Divine inspiration. a true psychologist would not make comments about the motives or feelings of God without first talking to him.

I Am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end, without me you are nothing. God cant be judged by human standards on the level of men. Jealous was stated in the bible. I dont believe it is taken in the sense that we as humans understand the word. Because He is the Creator of the Universe and all things in the Universe then He is worshiped as the One true God and we are his children, human children worship and adore their fathers.

God is a God of love. The Christian God has will, intellect and EMOTION. Jealousy and love go hand and hand. If you were truly in love with a woman and you saw someone else trying to steal her heart, you would be jealous.

Jealousy for God is not the same jealousy you are talking about. Jealousy for us is an imperfect response to a situation in which we feel inferior to another person.
God is jealous in the sense that He asks exclusive devotion of His servants, which is only a small token that we can give to our heavenly Creator, who is responsible for all life. His jealousy is righteous and deserved.

In my eyes he has every right to be he made you and his jealousy is towards people who chose to worship idols such as animals and statues, since after all he created the animals, and gave man the intelligence to make statues..... but as usual the truth is in his word.
