You should be more specific as education in its broad aspect embraces kindergarten to tertiary level and also whether it is from the perspective of pupils or teachers/lecturers.
I can only say that all schools, if I am not mistaken has a LAN (Local Area Network). There are periods in the curriculum where pupils go into Computer Labs for their Computer based learning. Pupils also use computers to do research for their project work. Teachers use IT to teach and to present vital information to parents during meetings etc besides writing their lesson plans and other related matters pertaining to education. Of course emails are widely used as a means of communication between principals/teachers, moe/principals/teachers not to mention the clerical staff as well. I think in Secondary Schools it is even more widely used as students need to present their project work etc. The government has invested millions in ensuring that we are not left out in this technological age.
It is undeniable that Technology in Education has more positive impact than negative ones. It is definitely very useful in the teaching of Science and Geography where pupils may search on their own when first hand knowledge is not so readily available.

Pretty obvious. Computers in the classroom; computers in the library. Computers in admin offices. Text messaging across the classroom and school on cell phones that are more than phones. However there is a down side. Use to be that engineers had to do all the math themselves, but now with computers they don't actually have to do the math. Problem is if the electricity goes, the engineers can't go back to the old way of figuring on paper.
Another negative is that technology makes being with others not as essential as it used to be. More loners are created with games, hacking, and programing, etc. because it doesn't take two or more to play. The whole world is at our finger tips and we don't even have to say hi to our neighbor any more.
