It doesn't influence american or any other countries values. Because if it did then the world wouldn't be in such a mess.

It depends on what you consider to be American values. Some values of Americans do not line up with Christianity.

Well, first of all we spell Christianity with a capital "C" and American with a capital "A". That is because we have honor and respect for both. Our entire country was formed by Christian values. Unfortunately, because it was made to be a country so full of freedoms, people are like spoiled children who don't have to do what their Father says. America gave people the freedom to have a voice, so they use that voice to spread hatred and anger.
America gave people the freedom of religion, so that people could be free to worship God, not kick Him out.
I am a Christian, and I hope to influence America by raising my children to obey the two Commandments that Christ gave...
" The first of all commandments is, Hear , O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbors as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these."
Words of Jesus, Mark 12:29-31
If we do our best to follow after these, we won't break any laws or hurt anyone, and if we love God, we will love others. I would like to think that I could influence right here and now by writing what I truly believe is the right way to live, I'm sure that those I want to influence will give me thumbs down. But that's okay.....you asked...I answered.

Originally, Christianity was the source for the standards of behavior in our legal system and our political system, but lately it is the mis-application of Christian values that have led to our legal system not holding the guilty fully accountable for their crimes. Similarly, they are trying to disarm the American populace. Both efforts lead to greater violent crime rates. In effect, the culture of the legitimate are rendered toothless while the criminal element are excused for their behavior by way of their environment, or their financial status, or education, or any of hundreds of other excuses. Again, this is the MIS-APPLICATION of Christian values. In the right application, the state has a responsibility to hold the guilty fully accountable for their actions. What Christ taught was for personal behavior, not for state responsibility.

Well it depends on the household. That's the beautiful thing about America. We all have our own beliefs and do as we choose. Christianity is a large part of our culture, but no where near all of it. I know it influences many lives across the country, but it will NEVER influence mine.

George Washington, considered by many to be the father of America, said it well when he said, “The propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right which Heaven itself has ordained.”
