I am in North Yorkshire, UK. I take a packed lunch which normally consist of a sarnie, light crisps and low fat yoghurt. No alcohol. I personally wouldnt consume alcoholic when working, I'd normally leave it till the weekend. I dont think it is wise to drink and return to work. It could affect your performance and attitude towards others, let alone the sheer embarresment of your boss smelling it on you!

most of us here in Ireland have sandwiches /soup at lunchtime. Alcohol is forbidden in all workplaces here and drinking at lunch-time is scorned. Government employees found to have taken some are disciplined for doing so. Most canteens at work here now provide a fresh sandwich stall;as they find most employees prefer to eat a meal at home in the evenings.

Contrary to what most in USA think; we Irish dont drink that much really!!!!

Northants, UK. I have sandwhiches today, with crisps (UK CHIPS) and chocolate. Sometimes I will grab some take out from the canteen (Gravy and Chips), or I will have re-heat, (Pasta, stew, soup).

Beer is a definate no no, unless there is an event, like staff leaving do, Xmas party, etc.

I live in Bristol, England & usually buy a sandwich from my works canteen (usually turkey & cranberry), or sometimes just a salad.

Friday usually entails a couple of beers at lunchtime though!
