Sociology. the hierarchical or vertical division of society according to rank, caste, or class: stratification of feudal society.
The doctrine of the Nicolaitans was mentioned in the Apocalypse of John Revelation chapter 2. It is a symbolic name of a group of people that represents the hierarchy of a ruling class over the rest of the people, developing a pecking order of fleshly leadership. Jesus hates this and warns the people to repent. It is not the question of the ministries but rather in the separation of them into a hierarchy over the people. This very idea was taken over by the Protestants with their own corruption of leadership roles and coverings. The Church of Ephesus was commended for hating the deeds of the Nicolaitans. The wrong separation of the clergy from the laity is a great evil in God's sight and He hates the lust for religious power over others. There is an ungodly spiritual authority in the Church today, which is nothing more than the prideful spirit of control, manipulation, domination and intimidation and a rebellion of the rightful authority of God

It means some people are holier than others. For example my wife is holier than me cause she is Baptist and I'm just a generic person.
Baptists as a group are holier than others cause they are already saved and will get a free pass on Judgment Day. Anytime you got one group holier than another group that's religious stratification.

"Religious stratification occurs when religion is institutionalized in the laws and/or customs of society as a criterion for the allocation of social positions and their attendant rewards. The result is a relatively stable ranking of religious groups in terms of their access to power, privilege, and prestige..."
Peace be with you.

There is a heaven and there is a hell. Hell was originally made for Satan and his angels, however, because of the sinfulness of man, those that reject Christ will go there, too. Heaven is not like here on earth. I do not believe that heaven will have social classes where some people are deemed better than others. When we get to heaven, there is a thing called the bema seat judgement. You only get to this judgement by believing in Jesus. There, we are rewarded for our deeds with crowns. However, the bible says we will throw them at Jesus' feet. Provided you get to this judgement. Those that didnt make the bema seat judgement get to go to the white throne Judgement where the dead are judged according to their deeds and then they are thrown into the lake of fire. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life.
