I would wait til you get the puppy to see what it looks like and to see what the personality is like. I named my puppy by her markings.

Jack?
Skyler?
Bess?
Paddy?
Minty?

Go with a name that's easy to remember, easy to call, and one that you like. Try out different names with the dgo at first and see which one he likes too, he might respond better to a name he feels he chose.

you need to get to know the pup first. Then when you know the pups character, a name that's perfect for the pup will come to you.

Lasas are great. My neighbour has two, quite a contrast to my two lab mixes. One, Abbey was named by the lady who had to give her up; Angel was named by a neigbor when he turned up stray in our street (both sterilized, no otherwise unwanted puppies I would have to keep for life).
It might be that you will find the perfect name only after he has been in your home for a few hours.
I once was awarded two full blooded chocolate lab puppies from a neighbour. Because I had two, I arranged to give them to my brother and sis in law as a gift.
I give them working names of Lady Guinevere and Maid Marion, and kept them only an hour.
Next day Sis in law called and asked if I would mind a name change. Of course not, I replied
Guinevere became Cuddles, the largest of the two, now grown at about 5.5 stone still will cuddle in someone's lap if possible.
Marion became Sassy because she talks back!
As for your boy,
I might (Cheeky me) call him William, if he carries himself with the Royal carriage as does my Neigbor's male,
Harry, Maybe Ronald (Ron) after Ron Weasley. Neville would not be too bad, either!
I am a Harry Potter nut, so...

Rio is a good one but also Franz Ferdinand (or Franz/ Ferdinand) after a favourite band (I once had a dog Called Toyah after Toyah Wilcox), Kaiser/ Czar (He will be king - they are beautifull) - best of all have fun with all options - he will love you no matter what name is given

Let him pick his name! If he is goofy, then something silly, if he is loyal and good, something of that nature. My dogs names are Andy, (after Andrew Jackson), Lucy (I love Lucy Show) Beanie, (beanie boy), Cecil (Beanie boy's side kick) Leroy Brown (Jim Croce song about a junk yard dog) and Indi (after Indianna Jones) so put thought into!
