kitaab like everyone else. also interesting to know is that is word is adapted in India as well for book.

kitaab...same as in middle east, they call it kitaab....when i visited india for the first time, when i asked the taxi driver for a good book store he told me tht book is called kitaab, and when i visited saudi, the called book kitaab too....no wonder their holy book the al quran is called al kitaab

It comes from the word "kataba" ~ to write.
