my gf said she gave her a bath w/ a flea & tic shampoo she said that she got some shampoo in her mouth.

I have had dogs get very ill on flea products. I think you may be right..I'll check site to see if there is first aid,,One of mine came home from the groomers and got very ill..

Is the dog having any symptoms or is he acting fine? Most flea and tick shampoos are ok if only a small amount was ingested. If the dog starts acting sick or upset in any way you need to call your vet ASAP! Other than that he should be ok. Check the label it should say on there if it's toxic or not and what to do if it's ingested.

Don't worry about it. If she got a little in the mouth it's no big deal. If she drank an entire bottle then you should be concerned. The most it would do is maybe make her tummy upset but you really shouldn't worry. It's not uncommon for that to happen.
If you are still concerned call an overnight veterinary clinic for advice.

My guess is that they probably make these shampoos nontoxic...but you should call your vet ASAP just to be sure. generally, flea and tic baths should be done by groomers.
