Are you first of all paying attention to the birds? Do you find a lot of feathers on the bottom of the cage? Maybe the toy has lost its appeal and you should find a new one for them. Are they caged together? Do you know if what sex they both are?

If they sleep a lot during the day then maybe they need a more quite place at night. As cockatiels get older and do more they do like to sleep during the day, but if they are not very active then you might consider taking them to the vet to get them checked out. Sleeping a lot can be a sign of a problem. If there is feathers on the bottom of the cage then they might be over preening this is a boredonm problem that you can solve by seperating them or getting a bigger cage. If they are two males then you might be forced to get two cages to make sure they don't hurt each other, while cockatiels are a flock animal sometimes they all don't get along. Is the curle feather on top of its head? They do have some feather that have a curl to them but it should be headed away from the skin not toward.

Good luck, and you probably set an appointment with a vet.

Hi,I have 2 cockatiels as well.I think it's more of a territory thing. The first one probably doesn't want it's space invaded.I,like you got one after the other.I've experienced some problems, slightly different.I think u should buy some new toys. They tend to get bored. Also,if you have a seperate cage handy try that.I seperated mine and they liked being together better. The main reason I wanted to seperate mine is because the male was pecking at the females head. She ended up losing a lot of hair because she was pushing him away.He wanted to be sexually pleased and she plainly did not! They are together in the same cage while she's still almost bald. They did not want it any other way.You will need to find out the sexes of both. Then you will have to determine whether they can actually stay in the same cage together.Male birds are usually more talkative then the female. As for the feather loss it may be caused from the other bird possibly.Hope this helps..

if all of those symptoms are on the same bird , then get him to the vet quick. When birds are sick they disguise it because they are a prey animal. usually you dont notice symptoms till it is too late.
