I think social workers have a hard job. Considering the kinds of situations they have to put up with on a day to day basis I would consider one of the hardest jobs out there. I respect them.

I really want to believe that some social workers out there have good inentions ,but you know what they say about the road to hell.... I know for a fact that many children's aid workers in ontario are picking on kids who are in trouble and have been doing this for at least 20 years.They will use intimidation and threats ,endless useless interrogations.For what ?Wether a kid has commited a crime or is being abused you're sure as hell not going to make things better by abusing them more. Why don't you want to go to school ? A: It sucks Q:Why ? Is it subject,teacher,someone on staff,classmate bullying,did someone touch you in a place that made you feel kinda funny? Is it a Guuuuuurrrl?Etc...Etc.... No to all. It just sucks and is boring Q:What's the real reason?Well what the hell do you expect kids to answer?They already told you the real reason so what else can they respond except " I don't know " Well if you don't know,we'll send you to someone who can help you figure it out.They keep up this kind of s**t for years.Doing this on a timescale of years adds up to brainwashing and mental cruelty .If you don't think so I would ask you if you would like them to do this to your children.AND I don't want to hear any B.S about them trying to make things so bad that you'll do what they want---THERE IS NO GOOD REASON FOR CHILD ABUSE AND CREATING IT WHERE THERE WAS NONE.They are also picking on kids because of what they look like.YOU RACIST F#@%ERS are going to go to jail for what you are doing to our kids!!!!

Respect and appreciation. Of all the work that a social workers do, I consider the trickiest one is getting emotionally involved in the problems of other individuals. That is something that can drain one out so much - living in someone else's shoes - taking it up as their own....

Well, I work with kids who are in the system. I think most workers become one to help others, but once they are bogged down by the system they seem to almost 'give up' sometimes and just became part of the system w/o making any effort to change it. Out of the dozens I've come into contact with, I can say that I've met maybe 2 or 3 that seem to really look out for the kids and have their best interest at heart. The others seem worn out by all the (excuse me) CRAP they have to put with.

As someone in foster care, I would say simply overworked. That may just be a local thing where I live with cutbacks though. I do believe they have the best intentions in their hearts. I've had six different workers in 3.5 years though, so that's got to be annoying for them as well.

Greatest human beings ever! They have a thankless job that noone else wants, they make decisions that noone else will, all for the benefit and safety of others.

they suck. they should be investigated. they take kids who don't need to be removed from their parents. and the drug using parents and molesters are allowed to keep their kids. social service is just a legal was for black marketing adoptions.
i know a girl who lost her only child to those morons. they told her they was going to help her. ya, they helped her by taking her kid away because she was a little slow. they adopted the child out. now she really is crazy. her parents had to put her in a mental hospital. social service should help people before they jerk the kids away from their parents. i couldn't live with my self knowing i took kids away from their family. them crying and screaming for their mother. couldn't live with my self. the town i live in is bad. social service sucks here.

They took my sister's 5 kids for no reason because of her illegal alien boyfriend and the other four fathers being stupid jailbirds.
