means that simulate the phenomena( to visualize actually how it Can be happen without physically building the phenomena) mostly by means of CAD support.

Different from animation. When you know the equations that govern some physical process you can write a simulation program that calculates what will happen. For example, the flight dynamics of modern aircraft are numerically simulated. Using what we know about aerodynamics, etc we can calculate the lift and drag of a wing. I used to work with simulation of spacecraft thermal systems. From known properties of materials, heat in/out, orbits, etc we calculated, that is simulated, a spacecraft temperatures. Animation, on the other hand lets you show an elephant flying. If you write a computer program using the weights, shapes, and properties of air, that elephant would not fly!

A simulation is an imitation of some real thing, state of affairs, or process. The act of simulating something generally entails representing certain key characteristics or behaviors of a selected physical or abstract system.

A simulation is smaller scale to what actually size. It is no need to build the real structures or process. There are many types of simulations. Hope I helped

creating something maybe with the aid of a computer or a dummy set-up a certain situation that is happening in the real world. most of the times, simulation is done when doing the actual set-up in the real world will be very costly. for example, if you have a project study regarding buying a new machine. buying the actual machine in the real world and testing its real performance will be very risky and costly especially if you are not sure it will work. but through simulation, you get to prove the result of the set-up with less costs incurred.

simulation is derived (from the word) similar... similar means "like" but it is not the genuine thing ar act but it is almost the same...for example simulation of a dollar bill is a fake dollar bill... simulation of a diamond is a cubic zirconia (a fake diamond).... i hope this helps!

a. Imitation or representation, as of a potential situation or in experimental testing.
b. Representation of the operation or features of one process or system through the use of another:
