Unfortunately the problem is that we're really close to the extent that he will even tell me about his girl problems. Should I assume that because he talks to me about other girls that he does not think of me as a possibility and never will? I think he can tell that I'm interested in him. How can I make him realize that he should be with someone who understands him and someone that he can confide in rather than the random girls he dates? (would especially appreciate guys' perspectives).

Honey you are right on the money when you mention that he doesn't see you as a dating type. If he found you desirable, he would have asked you out long time ago. I'm not sure how to answer this question but to ask him point blank what he thinks of you, more than a friend. You could be subtle, devious about this, and pray that he notices your attempts for attention, or you can be upfront.
Honestly, I see this as two possibilities. He either really really values your friendship that he doesn't want to risk anything or you're just not that attractive. If it's the latter, then I suggest you wear something sexy, revealing, excite his member a bit. That's how most men respond and trust me, when you satisfy him like no other whether that is vaginal or oral or even anal or dp, he will look at you in a whole different light. his eyes will have a different glint when he eyes you as the sexy piece of meat you really are.

you can't sweetie. just like a man can't make you love him either. if your heart is with someone else. All you can do is let him knwo in your own subtle way that you like him if he knows this already as you say and doesn't act on it. he probably isn't interested in you that way yet he doesn't want to hurt you either your a great friend to him this is why he drops hints about these other girls to you. letting you know in a nice easy kind of way. take the hint sweetie.

if he has noticed that your interested in him he might be telling you his girl "problems" just to see how you react...he might feel uncomfortable about being the first to say anything due to the fact that he thinks it might hurt your friendship....if you really like him and you two are really friends you should come out and say something after all you are friends be honest with eachother

He takes you as a friend and if discusses issue about his gf with you that means he has never thought about you and if he tells his problems that does not mean he is unhappy with his relation he is just making himself be lighter..... you try telling him your feeling but assure him that if his ans is a NO you will remain his friend

time will tell whether he has feelings for you. Just tell him. If he treats you as a friend at least u know where u stand. If he says he likes you, he has to decide. He cannot have both cake and eat it.

everyone knows that friends are the same as boyfriends/girlfriends, without the sex. just seduce him and get prego with his lovechild if you really want to be with him. then he will always have to be in your life.
