He says he is. However if you look at the record, Bush has used the Christian Right to gain political power, but hasn't delivered on any major Christan issue. Roe v. Wade is still the law of the land even with 2 supreme court nominations.
I think the Christian Right has been taken for a ride with Bush. (Not that I mind personally as I'm neither Christian or Republican). I just think it is funny/sad how politicians (both Dems and Republicans) use the most gullible of society to gain power. Perhaps after Bush, the Christian Right will stay home in 2008.

Just to clarify...murder is what is the sin. Murder is what is wrong under any circumstances. Killing for a just cause is perfectly acceptable.
To answer your question, Yes, I believe president Bush is a Christian.
"Turning the other cheek" was meant to be an insult back in the day. Look it up.

I think he is doing the best he can with limited capabilities. ( take that however you want) I believe he was raised as a christian and is trying to live his life according to those priciples, BUT being the leader of our nation is more often than not going to require some concessions. Not that I agree with the war, in fact I think it is wrong on many levels that I will not get into here. As far as christian.... hmm... find me a christian who completely lives their life according to the ACTUAL word nd teachings of Christ. This is a symptom of a problem with christian incarnation nowadays that is much deeper than one man. Every religion evolves with the humans that practice it, for better or worse.

I'm not into politics so I don't support or oppose Bush.
To answer the question .... I don't know whether he's a true Christian or not, but one way or the other, it has nothing to do with the war. There have always been wars, and there always will be. (Presidents have to be in office when there is a war.) This has nothing to do with his Christianity!

the question is not is he a christian the question is why hasn't he been called to account for his crappy witness going in opposition to many scriptures, There is scripture on dealing with one such as he and this question is not part of the procedure, nor is the first part of my answer but those who are christians near him should go to Mat 18 and the letters to Tim and do what it says. All of us make mistakes but if those arround us sit there and do not call us to account then not only are they part of the sin they also have the blood of those who might have been saved if not for the public display of sin by someone outsiders believe to be a christian. This is the Chrisyian problem of the day.

as the skeptic I don't believe Christians exist but only mutated ,warped or perverted versions as the result of misleading information designed to control the wealth and power of the people throughout the development of the church in conjunction with the kingdoms of past and modern gov. and society if you extract the morality that makes sense from all the corruption it is tainted with then you are very smart but really should get a better label as the outdated is dead and not salvageable without the present.

George Bush, as Governor of TX, had more prison inmates put to death than, I think, any other Governor in recent history. I know that church leaders asked him to stop and he refused. I don't think he is a Christian, though he surely does seem to. I mean Thou Shall Not Kill is the very 1st commandment - what's to not understand there?
Peace!

I'm not even sure George Bush knows himself what he believes. He is truly a disturbed, confused, manipulative, and a very very stupid person.
