Koran (9:11 ) - For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle. Th e wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah and lo, while some of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced; for the wrath of the Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah; and there was peace.

(Note the verse number!)

This has been circulating on the net. Is it a real passage? Just curious.

no it's a hoax.

9:11 But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practise regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand.

No, it was a hoax devised after 9/11 - notice the verse "9:11". In my copy of the Qur'an, verse 9:11 says "But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, then they are your brethren in faith; and We make the communicationsclear for a people who know." Quite different from the Eagle cleansing the lands of Allah.

We factor Our revelations for a people who've information. 9:111 Lo! Allah hath bought from the believers their lives and their wealth simply by fact the backyard would be theirs: they shall combat in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain. that's a promise that's binding on Him in the Torah and the Gospel and the Qur'an. Who fulfilleth His covenant greater valuable than Allah ? have a good time then on your good deal that ye have made, for that's the ideal triumph.

The Truth ... this is a hoax.

The quote is not from anywhere in the Koran (or Quran).
Chapter 9 verse 11 actually says "But if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, they are your brethren in faith; and we make the communications clear for a people who know." (M. H. Shakir translation)

I don't know if it is a verse from quran or not . but the eagle and the twin eagles have been banners for many civilizations thru out history . even the oldest civilizations from in iraq have had the banner of twin eagles. even the romans had it from which we inherited it .
seems like the lion and the eagle were the two favorite creatures of ancient leaders.

9:11 But (even so), if they repent, establish regular prayers, and practice regular charity,- they are your brethren in Faith: (thus) do We explain the Signs in detail, for those who understand.

Amazing how some people make up things about Islam just to spread lies and propaganda to advance their evil agendas.

Poki Poki has the right passage from that verse. Infact, I can't find 'Eagle' anywhere in the Quran.
