I know that I am going to have to stay home with her tomorow. Can I use FMLA to care for her and not have to lose my job??

I took some sick days when I was sick this year too. I should have known better and went to work sick myself, then I wouldn't be in this situation.

Corporations are inhuman and don't care about families or people, but they are quite wary of lawsuits. Chances are you should be alright as long as your honest about the situation. Make sure you're very specific that you're caring for a sick child. They won't risk anything if it makes them liable for anything. Best of luck and hope your little one feels better soon!

There a lot of variables. This depends on how many employee's work on site for your company. whether they are a larger company or small. How long have you been with the company. Also if you can claim FMLA you might not get paid for just one or two days offs. I know this is a difficult decision but your child's welfare comes first. If you can't find someone to help you in cases where they get sick , you may lose your job. Of course they would claim that you failed in doing your required job description and try would try not to let you claim unemployment. This is the business world and they tend to not really care about family issues. Hope your child feels better.

That is what FMLA is intended for. But you might want to check with the EEOC about it first since the rules seem to always be changing.s they are located in the Federal Government section of your phone book.

Does one of your local hospitals have a sick child daycare program? You'll have to pay extra for the care, but it might be worth it versus losing a job.

Employers could care less what is going on with your family. My husband couldn't even take off work when someone close to us died. They told him to either show up to work or get fired so he went to work. He did get fired from that job because i had-had a miscarriage and he stayed home with me. So that goes to show you they do not care if you are sick, dying or dead, they will fire you.
You could get a family member or trusted friend to watch your baby tomorrow for you. That is all i know that you can do.

Good luck and hope she feels better soon

It depends on your companys policy. Where I work I have to be here a year to qualify for FMLA. If you meet your companys requirements you cannot be terminated for being on FMLA.

children come first no matter what and your job should understand that and if they don't i wouldn't be the least bit sad about losing that job.....

Is your baby sick a lot? That is not normal.
