They almost don't relate to each other. To me, faith is to be sure of something. Hope, is an unknown.

I have faith that the sun will rise tomorrow. I hope it does not rain.

The faith one has leads to hope for a better day tomorrow. Of course that goes beyond religion. I have faith in myself that I can overcome obstacles which gives me hope that one day I will run out of obstacles.

Peace!

Faith, Hope and Love.... and the greatest of these is Love...

Faith is a "knowing" within your heart.. Very Strong
Hope is to bear in mind...
The difference between the two would be similar to the difference between believing and knowing. heart vs mind

Faith says that Jesus died for us and redeemed us back to God because Adam turned us over to the devil. faith believes every Word of God. Hope is to want. But, the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. Why hope for something He's already given us. Just receive, not hope.

I don't use the word hope. It is a useless word. For example, I don't say I hope I am saved. I say I have faith that I am saved. I don't say I hope I go to heaven. I know Jesus has forgiven me of my sins and I have faith I will go to heaven.

hope is dependent on faith . that faith may be a religious or on another deity. ( e,g a child may hope for getting a toy having faith on his parents getting it )

Faith is dependent upon the trust you have for the person you believe in. If my dad promises something to me, I have faith in him to follow through based on my past experience with him.

When I lend money, I do so with little expectation of ever seeing it again, I have little faith in the borrower.

Hope is not knowing, but desiring that the money will be returned. Faith is knowing that the money will be returned.

My faith in God is based in past experience with His faithfulness to follow through on His promises. I read His word to me to learn of His promises so my faith is increased.

Hope encourages us to seek faith. Faith fulfilled encourages us to hope for greater promises.

Faith is the belief of things unseen... and Hope is the anticipation of things believed.
