The sub catagories are showing questions as they are posted. Some of the main catagories are experiencing problems that Yahoo are trying to fix. I found your question when I clicked on "General-Auto Racing". It did not appear under the parent catagory "Auto Racing". I noticed the same thing that you did when I clicked on "Auto Racing"' From the posts I have read in the Answers Forum, I know that Yahoo is working on the problem. Probably something with their filters. By the way, are you going through auto racing withdrawl like I am? I follow all kinds of auto racing and can't wait for next year.
