yes you will look elegant in a classic french twist. if the dress has a lot of character its better to have a simple or classic hairdo.

for me you should put your hair down since it is for a strapless dress. Try having the down do but some curls like this:
the 2nd picture:http://www.hair-styles.org/fl24.html
2nd again:http://www.hair-styles.org/fl12.html
but after browsing some of the up do's I liked some hairstyles here are some:
the 1st and 2nd pic looks sooo great! :

other up do's
2nd pic looks okay

hope these things helps!

I think putting your hair up is a plus for any strapless dress, you will look very elegant too with your do up.

I would say to wear it up also. It elongates the neck with a strapless dress.

I think that up would look good but everyone doesn't like their hair that way so maybe pull the top and sides back and leave the back down. That way you can have both...kinda.

I vote up, it will make your neck/chest more prominent and sexy. Part it on the side and smooth it down and put it in a bun in the back.

Yes, 'up' would be very elegant but have a few curly strands framing your face and at the back so it isn't too severe. It's very sexy that way. :o)
