I got a new trimline Bible as a gift. It is very slim in width and refuses to lie open flat. How long does it usually take to break it in so that it does lie flat? Thanks!

Open the Bible to Pslams 118
Lay another Bible on top.
Leave for DAY.
This will help.

It may not be limp binding. Keep it for reference, but get another one and tell the clerk you want limp binding. If you keep working the new trimline it may wear out way too fast. Suggest you get one with center column references, maybe even a concordance.
I never have enough Bibles. There are the best investment anyone can possibly make.

I hate new bibles. I love my old ones and can tell you where to find something just by memory. I would say look on the left upper corner about three chapters down....bingo there it was. Now Its like starting all over with a new one. As for keeping it flat....stack books on it for a few days and it should work

Read it ten percent of the time and you will break it in, in about 7 days.

I don't remember, as I've had mine so long.

My suggestion is to open it up halfway and then weight it down with something heavy (a couple of phonebooks?) for as long as you can stand not to read it.

Depends on how many times you open it and read it.

I really couldn't tell you more accurately than to say that constant use will contribute to achieving your desired result.

You have to break the back of it. Fold it in half, backwards.
