Can a fling with a married soldier continue after a deployment?

Question

A friend is carrying on a sexual relationship with a married man while they are both are deployed. I suspect he thinks the fling is just that, a fling, and will discontinue any contact with her upon his return to his duty station. She is hoping they will continue to communicate and she will see him from time to time when she returns to her duty station.

Also, she tells he me keeps his wedding ring on during the act which I find a little odd. He talks about his wife from time to time (nothing major from what I understand) and his child.

I don't know why she thinks there is a chance for something further when they finish their deployments.

I think she should end it because he won't communicate with her after the deployment. She thinks he will.

Let me just say that this response had me on the floor: "i bet her **** is all funky and blown out. stop being friends with someone like that."

I doubt that this man will want to or try to continue the relationship beyond their deployment.

You know, sometimes s**t happens and you end up doing something that under normal circumstances you would never do. Who knows how long these people has been separated from their love one. Sometimes you just want that closeness even if you find you are getting it from all the wrong places.

The best thing to do is to stay close and not abandon your friend. Give her reality checks. Let her see your point of view. But whatever her choice is, be there for her!!

For those that had only nasty things to say instead of offering some real advice I would say "Ye who are without sin cast the first stone."

So, she likes the idea of sleeping with a man that cheats on his own wife? Guess what he'll do with her if they take their relationship to the ultimate level and get married?

For her to be porking a man, make that a boy, that speaks of his wife and keeps his ring on makes her a very poorly paid hooker.

She needs to get off this military transport to nowhere. Then she needs to spend a few hours in front of the mirror and figure out why she thinks she is nothing but a rag for a major general class jerk.

This is a deployment affair - once he gets rotated back to the United States, he will go back to his wife. Your friend needs to accept that.

I think she should end it and not expect him to continute with her. She should think about his wife and how she feels about it all. I don't think she would want to be a hand in corrupting his marriage and she probably doesn't want to be nothing but "the other woman" either.
