so she knows that i like her and says she wants to get to know me too. but admitted that she has feelings for another guy, so we aren't going to date. she said that she likes to build a friendship and have an emotional connection before dating. but then she says stuff like "whether we become just acquaintances or friends or you know, whatever" and i can't help but let it give me hope. am i wrong to read into this stuff?

Obviously she doesn't wanna wanna be with you. Some girls are players, and not honest! Don't go in into her stuff, show her that your a man and that you got dignity.

her options are open but for her to tell you that she wants to get to know you is a plus, just take it slow and start off as friends and see if it develops into a more than friends level but hey, that doesn't mean that you can't have your options open either so look out for other girls too.
