We have italian furniture from when we were stationed in Italy. What color walls would go best for our fancy room? Here's a picture of our Boroque Living room set

we're moving into a new house we just bought..we're planning on painting the room before moving our things in..because its pretty darn heavy to move these things around.

Any ideas? Thanks

I would try a textured look in a gold color -it's always old world and very charming. In the dining room you could go with a deep burgandy color to really give it some drama and to differentiate the room from the rest of the house. Tapestries and fabrics from India would also look elegant and make the house have a more global feel to it. Good luck.

there is a movie with diane lane under the tuscan sun. there are some wonderful colors in that movie and might give you some ideas. my mom had the same issues as you do and what we did was looked at pictures of the old Villa's to see what colors were on their walls. she went with a creme and a plum color cause of the wine vineyards. she added different rich color accents in the room. some of the pieces were a dark chocolate. she painted her woodwork white to keep it light and i hope some of this might help. think of the colors you would see in italy and some of the small countries over that way. or if you ever watch the food channel... look at the mario batali show or everyday italian. both set on those shows are beautiful with the colors they have on there.

How about a light rose color in the living room and a light gold in the dining room?
