Take it out now !!!!!!
You want to defrost in the refrigerator and that takes 3 or 4 days depending upon the size. It's better to have a defrosted bird sitting in the fridge than panicking to find a way to defrost it with time running out.
Besides the extra time will give you time to brine the bird if it's not one of those injected/basted ones.

I placed an 18 pound close to thawed turkey in a chilly refrigerator on a Sunday. found out the refrigerator became now not engaged on Tuesday morning. The turkey became thoroughly thawed and coolish to touch. I washed the turkey thoroughly and submerged it in a brine tub, place the entire ingredient interior the refrigerator and cooked it Thursday Cooked till the beef became 185* F. No undesirable style...nicely previous the bacterial kill temp. you assert "why did you now not flow get yet another?" we live 2 hours for any keep that would have had one...we referred to as, they did now not!! If it passes a discriminating smell attempt...a reliable tub and an entire cooking...bypass the gravy!!

5-6 days before. 3 days to thaw in the refriderator (or 1 day out in the kitchen but I dont know how sanitary that is!) and 2-3 days to marinate. I use the turkey bag ( found in the aisle where they sell seran wraps, foils, zip-locks, etc). This cuts the roasting time to almost 1/3 of the traditional time without the bag. It works wonders. Originally, it took me around 6 hours to cook the bird but with the bag its done in 2 - 2.5 hours! And it stays nice and juicy too. Give it a shot!

4-5 hours per pound in the fridge. - best method
Or 30 minutes per pound in cold water, leave it in its original packaging and change the water every half hour.
Do not thaw a turkey at room temperature. It can allow bacteria to grow that cannot be killed when it is cooked.

do it tuesday night. line the bottom shelf with thick layer of paper towels and set the turkey on it. don't let the turkey juice get on your veggies in the crisper! LOTS of paper towels is good, cause sometimes a lot of turkey juice will leak out.

I would take it out now. I have a 21 pound turkey and pulled it out yesterday because my fridge takes forever to thaw stuff out.
