I have a fairly big circle of friends, and I really like them allm except they don't all get along with each other, they are divided into two groups. When I spend time with a certain group, the girls in the other group get all uptight and just say 'hi' and give me smalltalk and vice versa. I want to be friends with everyone but it is hard, having to balance allegences. And don't say that they aren't true friends etc, because I really like them and they really like me but get all annoyed when I spend time with either group

dude, I don't know where you got the idea that all girls are jerks and do the silent treatment and whatever. I know I don't do that. I, however, have been in your shoes, and in a way I still am. A friend of mine basically, got together with her best friend's ex 3 days after they broke up, and my entire group (and I mean, all whatever, 9, 10 people) except for me, didn't say almost a word to her after that. I still valued her friendship though, and so it was really hard. There's not exactly a question here, so I don't know what you're asking except for an excuse to complain. basically, if I were in your shoes, I'd have a major talk with both groups, and find out the beef is that they have with each other, because that's just ridiculous right now, that they don't tell you why.

As a female I will be the first to admit that girls are very catty. I don't know why, we just are. I always preferred to hang out with guys because I hated to put up with the bull that girls put each other thru. Unfortunately, there is nothing you can do about it. You shouldn't have to choose sides. Have you told them where you stand? Let them know that you can be a good friend to them even if you're friends with the other group of girls. If they are true friends, as they say they are, then they will be cool with it and will respect you even more for being honest. And hopefully they will chill out.

Heres an idea for ya buddy. sit the the "leaders" of both groups down and tell them how you feel. I have a rule when friends are trying to get me to stop hanging out with other people, i tell them if you really want to to stop hanging out with them your not really my friend, so if you really want me to choose between them and you......its them because they didnt make me choose......little of topic but i hope you get the point

Guys are the same. Petty jealousy, ego to the moon, nasty behavior is not limited by gender.
