Well my girlfriend and i where having sex one day about 2 weeks ago. I would'nt use a condom mostly in the beginning then i would switch to one after closer to the end. So its been a few days more like 2 weeks and my girl friend has been complaining about headeches, dizzyness and just recently throwing up plus she keeps putting thoughts in her mind of babies and as they say "whatever the mind can conceive it will achieve" so im kind of scared. She took a test today Nov. 19 her usual day to get her period is 24 and before (about 3 months ago) her period would come at every 21.....2 months ago on the 27 and one month ago on the 31.....so today she took the test and it came out positive is thee anyway that this could be wrong??

any helpful insight would be greatly apreciated mostly women since you know more on hand and trough experience.

Nope. Wishful thinking will not make a positive pregnancy test wrong. She's pregnant. Ummm..... congratulations?

I'll break this down for you.

1. Any fluid that comes from the penis can potentially contain sperm. It only takes 1 sperm to fertilize an egg. Therefore, condoms only work if you use them the entire time.

2. Her symptoms do coincide with standard pregnancy symptoms. They differ for everyone. Mine have always felt like the flu. My symptoms also started early, around 9 days after ovulation (around midpoint in her cycle)

3. A woman's cycle averages around 28 days, so unless she has a 30-31 day cycle, she won't stay on the same day of the month.

4. Pregnancy tests today can test as early as 5 days before your period because they detect smaller amounts of the pregnancy hormone hcg.

5. False positive pregnancy tests are possible, but are not as common as false negatives. Wait a week and test again to verify the results.

Good luck!

Hey Arthur,

Well, it is possible to still get your period and be pregnant. Although the tests (if store bought) are not always accurate, I would suggest going to a clinic, or her going to her doctor to make sure! You mentioned dizziness and baby thoughts, a heightened sense of smell and strong cravings could also be signs. My best piece of advice is to stick by her and be strong.

PS Not wearing a condom at the beginning of intercourse does not promise anything. Pre-ejaculate contains sperm as well and can cause a pregnancy.

A test can always be wrong, but it probably isn't. The thoughts in her mind didn't make her pregnant, by the way. Your irresponsible use of a condom did. Pre-ejaculate (the clearish, cloudy stuff that comes out long before you ejaculate) can make a woman just as pregnant as ejaculating inside of her. I suppose that is fairly obvious at this point, though. Anyway, congratulations...please treat her with the utmost respect.

i admire Ryan Jacob for a boy - it is amazing, and it sounds fairly amazing with Micah. I additionally love the call Alexander - Jacob Alexander may be fairly amazing, exceptionally with Jake as a nickname. Lindsay Nicole is my accepted for a woman. i think of Jaiden sounds slightly too masculine for a woman, and that i'm additionally no longer keen on it because of the fact it is totally popular and overused. Karyssa may be exceptionally if it became into spelt Carissa - Karyssa basically makes it look such as you're attempting way too annoying to be popular. I additionally think of Alyssa Nicole may be a very exceptionally call. :]

Interesting - you are NOW worried about a pregnancy - where in the heck was your concern when you had unprotected sex? DUH! Yes, it is very possible she is pregnant, Dad. No, it is not possible that the test is wrong.

And it is NOT her MIND that is conceiving - it's her uterus!

You kids today - you love to have your cake but you hate to wash the dishes!

Get real - get a life. Put yourself on a path to do better in your life - this is not a dress rehearsal, man - this is it. And now you are about to bring a child into this life of yours. Geez. And we wonder what's wrong with the world. To many people who only think of themselves, their instant pleasures and the heck with tomorrow. Well, tomorrow does come - and for you it's here.

Good luck - you sound like your going to need it.

There are very rare cases of false-positives, in cases of hysterical pregnancies and other oddities, but I would NOT hold out hope on that one my friend. Of course, it makes sense to wait a couple days and do another test, but it is probably best to get used to the idea and figure out what is next.

Good Luck...

You should have used the condom the whole time, then you both wouldn't have had to worry about this crap. A few seconds of no-condom action for you isn't worth the major life-changing consequences involved. This should be a wake up call to try thinking with your head next time, not your penis.

Well dear I think the chances of her not being pregnant, are very slim. Get prepared for some major decision making and facing up to her parents and yours. It will not be easy, but you will have to and the sooner the better. Some decisions can not be made after so much time has passed. Good luck.
