It sounds like hoarding disorder, which is an obsessive/compulsive spectrum disorder. That is a disorder where people have too many things, but they keep buying more. They don't keep things organized or neat, and worst of all, they never throw anything away!

If a person has a problem with throwing things away, it will eventually become a health hazard and if the person rents, they will be evicted.

Pure laziness. Lack of personal pride. Personally, I couldn't live like that. I'm no neat freak, but I take pride in my home.
