hello
Now you have asked a good question.... Here is my opinion, for a man to look at a women and admire there beauty, it's ok... But if the glance becomes gawking, then his mind is really checking this person out with great interest.
If a man turns away after a gawking, and then looks again at this woman, and looks her up and down, then he is lusting her.
If a man is true to his woman, it should never be nothing more than a glance, unless of course if he thinks he knows her and is trying to place where he knows her from. Other than that, it's not respectful to you. And this opinon goes for you too.

Lust is a very power emoition, and can be a serious problem. It sometimes leads to, (well we were just talking and then all the sudden his hand was in my pants, it was just something that happened.) That is what Lust will do, and can do it to the best of us.

I hope you can talk with your partner about this, it's just not respectful, to be gawking or lusting someone else...

Take Care
Curt

Define Gawking

Looking is just that.
Lusting is wanting that person. A longing.
Gawking is actually like open mouthed, tongue hanging out staring.

looking-just looking, self explanatory
lusting- can't get out of mind
gawking- you're drooling and probably looking like an idiot

looking - the first glance to see who is there
lusting - that second look to really memorize their looks
gawking - deer in the headlights staring at somebody

It's a bit more complicated than that. There's also gaping, leering and drooling.
