Actually, most of the founding fathers were diests, "In God We Trust" refers to the idea of an unknown creator being who created the world and then withdrew from the affairs of men. And who really cares about the masons anyway, they are about as relevent to the actual real world as any other church out there. Which is to say they aren't at all.

Actually, the establishment of our motto "In God we trust" began with a letter dated November 20, 1861 from Secretary Chase to James Pollock, Director of the Mint at Philadelphia, which read, “Dear Sir: No nation can be strong except in the strength of God, or safe except in His defense. The trust of our people in God should be declared on our national coins. You will cause a device to be prepared without unnecessary delay with a motto expressing in the fewest and tersest words possible this national recognition.”

That's a cool question. I'll have to research that. And the love of God and the love of money are not the same. In the Bible, Jesus said about taxes to give Cesar what is his and God what is His.

Hi handsome. That is very interesting. I know that the words "under god" was added to the Pledge of Alliegance in the 1950's because of the Senator McCarthy witch hunt.
