Watch out !!!!! Save your Money
Please don't fall for these out of country sellers. These are SCAMS.
They are getting so good that they are starting this in the state now too.
These ads are popping up in local newspapers.
A local woman in the area just got scammed.
The master mind was from west africia(Nigeria)
They'll tell you all you have to pay for
is to have the dog shipped. Or a very low price..etc
Start asking them question and they will never answer..they wil keep saying to ship money now..etc
Here is one
Due to the nature of my Job I am into International
contracts (sales and supply of textile goods and
printing jobs) both in the states and other countries
outside so I'm in Nigeria at the moment and I dont
think I would be back to the states early, the puppy
is also here with me because there is nobody to take
good care of the puppy for me here, so I decided to
get rid of her for adoption. So if you are interested
let me know by forwarding your full name and address
so that i can arrange for the shipping and i want you
to promise me that you will take good care of the
baby and you will keep me update with her current
pics. Puppy will be delivered nextday after
shipping,with express shipping service.
Thanks again for your love and caring for my adorable
baby. You can contact me on this phone number
+2348026860344 so that we can talk more.
Cheers!!!

No. They have to go thru customs. You need to check with your vet and find out what all the requirements are. There are a lot of scammers who try to sell or buy dogs from Africa. I hope you are not being taken in by one of these.

No, unless it is smuggled in, risking very high penalties, the dog would need to go through quarantine. Check with your customs dept. in the city where the dog would arrive about how long the dog will have to stay there and what documentation you might need.

NO,ALL Animals must be checked when entering United States, just as all Humans are" suppose" to be. Check with your local Vet,but am sure all shots have to be up to date, but am sure Vet office would have a pamphlet or list of requirements. Also might check with US Customs Office as well,am positive they would have your answers or be able to help you get the information you are requesting. Good luck

They do not go through Customs, they go through Quarantine.
Often times quarantine can last up to six months depending on where it comes from and you may be held responsible for the cost of this.
You will need to check on this prior to making the arrangements to bring the animal to the US.
Sometimes a Health Certificate can be enough, sometimes not.
