Similar? I see very few similarities actually. The major disimilarity (and the one of ultimate concern) is how do we come to know God.
Christ tells us that He is the Son of God. Christ tells us that NOONE comes unto the Father but through Him. Christ says narrow is the way unto salvation and few there will be that find it.
Scripture explains how false teachings such as Islam will come to be.
2 Tim 4:3
For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.
NIV
The two are incompatible.

properly i've got heard diverse Islams think of tht we christians have confidence in 3 Gods, (Father, Son, and Spirit) as quickly as we for sure have confidence tht God has greater potential than the different 2. Islams have many distinctive perspectives on how the international will end and that they dnt worship a similar god. Christians dnt have confidence in Mohammad who exchange into by no skill definitely shown to do miracles or be a prophet. Islam would not have confidence tht Jesus is the son of God so as that they at the instant are not tht comparable

No one can make that descision for you- it is a personal heart choice. Christianity and Islam are fire and ice, the only thing they really have in common is that they worship one God and even these differ greatly. Allah was invented by Muhammed to fit his agenda. He basically combined various gods and -tada! Allah. However, most of these gods were gods of war and hate and only three of the 97 were kind and good. Christianity follows a God that hasn't changed, and has been in exsitance before time began. True, people have also used Him and twisted the Bible for their own use just like with Islam (show me one human being who is perfect). God is also blamed for many of the bad things that happen even though, most of it we bring upon ourselves. But as I said in the beginning, it is YOUR descision, NO ONE ELSE can make YOUR mind up for YOU. I recommend doing some research and reading if you really want some answers. I hope you find the truth!

I think you should do your own research & come to your own conclusions. I am a Muslim convert from Christianity & obviously think Islam is the better choice.
If you want to find out about Islam, you can contact your nearest Islamic center & they can answer any questions you might have.
I think however in regard to the answers you've recieved, people should avoid spouting nonsense about someone ELSE'S religion & stick to telling you the good points of thier own!

In Islam and Christianity, there are lot of divisions. Even the divisions within each are so dissimilar. There are Christians who worship Jesus and consider him as God himself, where as there are Christians who consider him son of God. It is a fact that either of this was preached by any prophets before Jesus. In Islam, The holy book is guaranteed by God against corruption. so Muslims who truly follow Quran and the ways of prophet are on the right path.

Only humans who makes one religion diff. from the other religion. Very SAD as it have become a common brand name and just a simple application from a text book for one to be in the group.
For whats is worth, the one who create you, will always accepts you. Seek first the kingdom of heaven. By doing so than you can appriciate God and its totalities.
Its seems that people have hold to their religion so hard that have lose the essence of it.
Its in God that you should be seeking for ,NOT of its tool.

You need to do lots more research. Christianity is polytheistic and Islam is monotheistic. That is just the beginning of a long line of differences.

It depends where you want to spend eternity ! Out of all the prophets, Jesus was the only one who promised enternal life " I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the father, but by me" (John 14:6), Jesus was the only on to be a sacrifice for our sins "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." (John 3:16) The God of the Bible & the god of Islam are not the same ! The God of the Bible offers grace "For by grace ye are saved through faith; and that not of yourselves : it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9), the god of Islam on the other hand offers you to work your way to heaven by good deeds "And do not do mischief on the earth, after it has been set in order, and invoke Him with fear and hope. Surely, Allah,s mercy is near unto the good doers" (Koran: Surah 7:56), which is impossible because we are not perfect "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all." (James 2:10), Muhammad was not perfect ; only Jesus was perfect "For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in the time of need." (Hebrews 4:15-16), the only way Muhammad offer's mercy is to become a martar & die in jihad "And if you are killed or die in the way of Allah (jihad), forgiveness & mercy from Allah are far better than all that they amass (of wordly wealths) (Koran: Suruah 3:157) This is not love because the god of Islam shows no love, only the God of the Bible "But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us." (Ephesians 2:4) If you want your sins forgiven & spend enternity in heaven follow Christ, or if you want to stay on the same road that your on & end up in hell decieved, follow Islam or do nothing "Enter ye in the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it" (Matthew 7:13-14)

Christianity puts God's Spirit in you to give you the power to obey and live an abundant life. In other words the Christian God lives in you and helps you to obey Him and to live victoriously because He is the God of love. The Islamic god never claims he is a god of love and lets you obey the koran all by yourself. Christianity has a God that gives all who believe in Him a destiny of abundant living whereas Muslims are resigned to live a life of fate as determined by allah. I believe that Christianity is a better choice and pray that you will come to know the true, living and loving God.

Do you really think they're the same? Maybe you should check that one more time. But let me tell you this, I don't think it's a good idea for you to be asking a bunch of people you don't know from Adam what you should do with your eternity. My vote anyways though is Christianity.
