I'm a Christian, and my boyfriend is Buddhist. I'm very interested in how the two intersect, and they can and do very easily. The teachings of Christ and Buddha are similar in many areas. The book "Living Buddha, Living Christ" by Thich Nhat Hanh is a great examination of that. There have also been many Buddhist Christians, with the adherents following Christian doctrine and Buddhist philosophy. I think they work well together.

You reference Buddhism like it's some type of appetizer at a party! What's up with that? I've read up on Buddhism to see what Buddhists believe:Noble Truths, The Noble Eight Fold Path, Nirvana, Karma, Bodhi, etc. However, there indeed is a reason why I am a Christian and that's because I believe that the Bible holds Absolute Truth.

I've never "tried" Buddhism, but I have studied it. Americanized Buddhism is much different from real Zen Buddhism, which is quite strict and disciplined.

I have great respect for the Buddhist. I think many of their ideas are good ones. People should read the books by Thich Nhat Hanh. He can teach us Christian a lot about Love. "Peace Is Every Step, and "Being Peace" are two of his books. I like the first one best.

I find that studying other religions help me to be a better Christian.

I couldn't get into it. I tried, but sitting under a cherry tree for a few years doesn't seem to me the way a man can come into wisdom. Jesus didn't just teach; he experienced life first hand by getting his hands dirty as a carpenter and suffered like any other man of His day did. Unless I'm wrong about how Buddha came into his wisdom, it's not for me.

Christianity is the religion of the creator, whereas Buddhism is a man made religion ,
Buddha is a human, can a human do better than God. God will only accept those with sincerity in their belief and faith. It is rather too far away to reach God through a media. Multiple faith is the greatest sin God will never forgive. Man-made religion is worthless to comment.
