Where I live is called the "Golden Triangle" of Southeast Texas and there are a number of things (people) from this area that are famous.
Tex Ritter (actor, country singer, John Ritter's dad) is from here.
JP Richardson, the "Big Bopper", rock-n-roll singer of the late '50s early '60, died in plane crash with Richie Valens is from here.
Janice Joplin (rock singer) is from here.
Karen Silkwood, anti-nuclear activist, of the movie "Silkwood" fame is from here.
These are just a few of the people from this area. We also have:
Tracy Byrd (country singer)
Tracy Lawrence (country singer)
Mark Chestnut (country singer)
I think this area has a lot to be proud of. I know I'm proud.

My new hometown is Spokane, Washington. It has 60 lakes within 60 miles. We love boating out here in the summer. The choices are phenomenal. We also have the Centennial trail that starts in western Spokane and runs along the Spokane River for about 30 miles into Coeur d' Alene, Idaho. The scenery is awesome. It's a beautiful area.

I grew up in Jonesboro, Georgia. Parts of Gone With The Wind were filmed there and so were parts of all of the Cannonball Run series. Also, Sherman burned it and there is a very cool and educational Confederate Cemetary there and still-existing original slave quarters and plantation houses. Oh, and the Olympic Beach Volleyball was there.

Toronto - the CN Tower. I think it's still the highest freestanding structure. Every year people climb the stairs to raise money for the United Way. On a clear day, you can see all the way to Niagara Falls from the Observation Deck...

My hometown is Huntsville, Texas - most commonly known as the prison capital of Texas - also known for the many executions that occurred there - not the best thing to have known about your hometown but someone has to be from there.
