At what age of the child should the parent(s) stop bathing together with them?

My parents always give me weird looks whenever I bathe with my 4yr old son.

I dont believe in bathing with a child.To me bathroom time is personal and should not involve a child.

Well, I'm gonna raise some eyebrows here, but I think whenever you think you should. There are many cultures where entire families sleep and bathe together all the time and grow up perfectly healthy, well - adjusted, productive members of their society. Our society has been so heavily influenced by prudish Victorian beliefs that any sort of nudity is tabu because of the sexual undertones associated with it. Plus we see news reports about sexual abuse and registered pedophiles in every neighborhood, everyone is all freaked out over what's appropriate or inappropriate behavior. We have such a short time to spend with our children while they're still young enough to want the attention. Don't let your parents or anyone else deprive you of any bonding time you share with your son. You raise your child the way you think is best. If your parents think it's weird for you to bathe with him, tell them to stay out of the bathroom!

NOW stop now. my son is that age and he knows what he was looking at. He started to notice at 3 almost 4 years old it is time to stop now. IF you have a boy the daddy can bathe with him but no you bc they know what they are looking at. I would stop now though because he is old enough to bathe without you in there.

I have a 5 year old daughter and I bathe with her. what is so weird about it? she has an appropriate understanding of 'boys and girls' and how they are different. look I didnt think that there is an age that you must stop bathing with your OWN child, some one Else's NEVER, but a child doesn't have a 'sexual' mind especially at 4 yrs old! if that's what your worried about.
the only confusing thing for your child will be to suddenly stop bathing with them, he/they will only feel ashamed that they no longer can be naked in the same place as their parents! creating a sense of shame about THEIR own body.

It depends on the curiosity of your son. Since he is a boy, you should expect to have to explain the difference between boys and girls soon if you haven't already. But I should say you should consider stopping soon. I don't think you should be bathing with your 5year old boy. But then, there are women out there who still breastfeed their 7yr olds. Ew.

I would honestly say two. That's when they start to become aware of different body parts. Yes, you should teach them the difference between man and woman, but not by bathing with them. It's just not appropriate after that.

Look at it this way. What's your oldest memory? If he will remember it when he's older, it's time to respect him, and teach him about his personal space. Also, he needs to learn about your personal space. Especially if he's going to start school in a couple years or so. I can remember back at three years old when I used to bath with my older brother. I can still remember what his penis looked like. Hahahaha.
