I take tylenol PM, it works, but after a while you get immune to it, the recommded dosage is I believe two, but I take like 6, cuz it stopped working. Even at that, it will work to help you go to sleep, but when you wake up, you wake up really tired, I suggest you go talk to a doctor, because that's what I'm about to do!!! Good luck!!!

Registered Nurse here; Insomnia common problem, especially in the 21st century. Go over a check list, is there something weighing on your mind, family, finical, recent job change, problem in the work place, divorce, sick relative, child, spouse, etc. The list is endless. Now if nothing has changed in your environment or personal live. Look at your intake of caffeine, if this to is unchanged. I strongly suggest you make an appointment with your physician, and go in and the two of you evaluate a solution to the insomnia. Perhaps you need a sleeping aid for a short period of time. Could also be things such as thyroid out of wack, hormonal imbalance. But at any rate you needn't suffer in this day and age of medical technology. Please go and talk to your physician.
Thanks for the opportunity to address your question.

Insomnia (sleeplessness) is due to stress, dietary and medical
problems. By making small lifestyle changes like having a fixed
daily routine, relaxing and eating properly, insomnia can be
cured. I found the information at http://tinyurl.com/jfzpz useful
for getting sleep.

Don't try and force sleeping that makes it worse. A nice glass of warm milk and a few slices of toast works for me.

if it a chronic problem...try Melatonin..it is natural and can be bought at any pharmacy in the vitamins section...it does not PUT you to sleep..it helps you regulate your body clock again...it gets you in touch with night and day again...without any ill-effects.(works similar to tryptophan in turkey)
If it is a temporary problem...chamomile tea, warm milk, and another natural remedy...marijuana.
If all else fails...pop a Gravol....I wouldn't take Benadryl.
