Satan means adversary....it is a label or title, not a name

In ancient Jewish tradition Satan is simply an angel doing the work that God assigned to Satan to do.

The word Satan means challenger. With the idea of Satan challenging us, or tempting if you will. This description sees Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. This idea of Satan works closely with God as an integral part of Gods plan for us. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it becomes clear to us that there can be only one meaningful or logical choice.

Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered polytheistic or setting up the devil to be an equally powerful polarity to god or a demigod.

Oddly, proof for The Christian satan/devil mythology is supposedly found in the ancient Jewish texts that were borrowed to create the bible. One can’t help but wonder how Christians came up with such a fantastically different interpretation of Gods assistant Satan in their theology.

Other hints about Satan’s role in human relations can be seen if you look at the name Lucifer. It’s meaning in the original tongue translates as Light bearer or light bringer. Essentially the bringer of enlightenment. The temptations of the Satan idea bring all of us eventually into Gods light. Hardly the Evil entity of Christian mythology.

According to Judeo-Christian apocrypha, Satan and Lucifer are 2 seperate beings.

Lucifer, Light-bringer, Morningstar, and so on, was the highest of the angels. He fell from grace when he tried to wrest power from the creator.

Satan means "adversary", or "one who opposes". It is not clear in the OT who the "satan" is that God sends to do his bidding (the adversary is an angel- a servant of god). Those angels aren't named. Satan is not so much a name unto itself, as it is a position.

Devil is a noun meaning theologically "a subordinate evil spirit at enmity with God, and having power to afflict humans both with bodily disease and with spiritual corruption". Not necessarily Satan or Lucifer.

The only power any evil entity has is the power you let it have.

On Planet Big H, Satan is a bio-engineered robot.

Devil spelled backwards is "lived" (the opposite of lived is never lived).

De is a substitute for "the", therefore D evil means "the evil"

Now to your question:

"The evil Satan has power to .......... present a sales pitch by mental telepathy. It's really as simple as that.

Only religious empires make a big deal about using the Devil to scare people into paying their tithes.

Lucifer is the name of Satan or the devil. He was once an angle of light until he rebelled against God and was thrown out of heaven along with a third of the rest of the angels.

Lucifer is just a fallen angel. Devil is slang for devolution. When one devolves one falls deeper into illusion which is the power of Satan.

both, Lucifer is the name of satan when still in heaven few people realize that satan is a fallen angel. but he only has power threw God because God made him and man with freewill. One day God will cast satan and all the fallen angels into hell, and we will have peace on earth for a 1000, years. people Lucifer was a man a Babylonian king not angel.

Isa 14:4 That thou shalt take up this proverb against the king of Babylon, and say, How hath the oppressor ceased! the golden city ceased!

Isa 14:12How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! [how] art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!

For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:

I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.

They that see thee shall narrowly look upon thee, [and] consider thee, [saying, Is] this the man that made the earth to tremble, that did shake kingdoms;

it is clear that Isiah is talking about the fall of the Babylonian empire to the Persians. and it has been said that when nebakanezer took Israel he bragged to them that he would sit on their gods throne. i don't know where this came from that it was talking about Satan but it is clear that this is a man any one that would like to debate this with me is free to email me

Satan/Devil/Lucifer/Old Dragon/Serpant, It's the same entity. There are many other "sons of GOD" that fell during the rebellion but the terms you use are for one dude! Now the "Beast" or "Anti Christ" Gets his power from Satan. Is that what you are getting at?

May GOD richly bless you.
