can i use another cd to install office xp and use my old serial number to install it properly ...will my valid serial number work with another cd???

It should work, as long as it is the exact same version (Student/Standard/Professional/Platinum/Small Business/etc.)

The serial is stuck to that cd. Microsoft might send another one if you reference your number. The serial numbers are of course unique and prove that you bought a copy of the office cd...

no, i don' think it can, the office 2003 is different from office xp, try to contact the shops where you bought it or microsoft to get replacement cd
anyway, if you ever register the product, they'll have the data of you as a genuine owner or purchase receipt as a proof

it will work on any other office CD if not contact your seller to know what to do.
