I took interest in this guy Sam who constantly flirted with me for around 3 months but never made a move. we were just really good friends. I eventually gave up and thought nothing of it bcos it wasnt going anywhere.
this is when i met my current boyfriend who is a really really nice guy. and we've been together for 3 months, he is tellin me hes after something serious. Even though i'd like to have something serious but im not sure if hes the person i'd spend the rest of my life with (i'm in my mid 20s)

during that 3 months, i didn't really talk to sam.
Last weekend we celebrated his birthday, the first time i saw him in 3 months. he was trying to get close to me, and said he missed talking to me and "no other than u can keep up to my level of interest"

I must say my heart swayed a little. Now i feel as if im losing interest in my boyfriend. i dont wana risk leaving my bf if sam is just a flirtatious type of guy that dont want to get serious.

any advice is appreciated thanks!

The grass is always greener... IMO, stick with your current boyfriend and forget about the first one. Or, stay single. Perhaps you aren't ready for a commitment with either yet if you are having difficulties deciding between them. Goodluck with whatever you decide to do. :-)

Explain things to Sam, Tell him ur getting serious w/ur new bf and u would like to know what exactly he is looking for w/u? Something long term or just to have fun? If he cares at all he will b honest w/u. It sounds to me that he is a flirt. If he liked u that much u woulda thought he woulda tried to be with u a while ago but he didn't until he recently saw u again. Ru sure he wasn't lookin for mayb a 1night stand that night?

Sam is afraid to get close, but he wants something to be going on, so he can fool himself into thinking that he's actually having a relationship. You always want the one you can't have. Bet Sam wouldn't be half as interested if you didn't have a boyfriend.

Honey, you've been with a boy for 90 days-that's nowhere near enough time to decide if you want to spend the next 60 years with someone! And it's very possible that after 120 days, this boyfriend might turn out to be wrong for you.
Advice: tell your current boyfriend that you're not ready to be exclusive and date them both. If you're honest about it, it's fair.

sam is a dunce, he didnt make a move on you in all those 3 mths?

why would now be any different??

he had his chance and never took it probably because he didnt really want to.

His interest may be a little higher now because your taken and people want what they can't have - but if he didnt like you enough to ask you out 6mths ago i doubt he will if you drop the boyf.

Keep in mind most men like a chase and a challenge and now that he sees you with someone else he might just be wanting to see if he can win you away from your boyfriend. I am not saying that this is the case but just be cautious.

You're not teenagers. So ask Sam straight out if he wants to be more than friends.
