there is this guy who wants to ask me to be his girlfriend but I don't like him. I don't know of a nice way to tell him no. He has tried to ask me about 3 times but I always say or do something else to change the subject. What can I do to tell him no in a nice way?

I have come across the same situation throughout my life...I have always felt uncomfortable when approached. I am the type of person that doesn't want to hurt someone's feelings.
I have found that when asked, I would have the same type of smile across my face as if someone told me a good story.....Then say politely....." Thank you, I am very flattered, but no thank you, It was really kind of you to ask". Change it up as you like, but keep it simple, you don't need to give excuses. I would suggest to always say that you are flattered. Just remember, rejection is hard for everyone...Try to make him as comfortable as possible with the turn down.

just tell him one of the following things:
1. ur not ready for a relationship with anyone period.
2. you just view him as a friend and nothing really more
3. ur taking a break from going out with guys for a while
4. u don't want to ruin the friendship u currently have
5. u just dont have that spark

Just say that "Thanks but no thanks. I don't really like you that way but I hope we can still be friends after this". And if you don't think this will work then just say what your heart says. Say something to make him happy first then break it to him gently.

Tell him he's an awesome person but you rather be friends... or you could say you think being bf and gf would ruin your friendship

Tell him your parents don't allow you to have any boyfriends while you're in school. Say they'd ground you if they found out.
