Won't anyone who beleives in Jesus burn in hell if they aint a Catholic.
Surely if Jesus chose Peter to found his Church, only the Church Peter founded in Rome is the only true Church?

sure sounds like you really understand "Harmony".

PS "Peter" means rock. Petroleum means found under the rock. That's right; we find oil, most of the time from under a rock.

You know where that is, your question indicates you just crawled out from under one.

Christ never chose Peter to be the first pope or the founder of the church. Peter was stating a truth to Christ and since Christ is the rock and foundation he was just telling peter that upon this rock, the truth he was speaking about, would establish his church. The true church are those who have been born again and who all have the Holy Spirit in them and can hear God's voice and instruction and follow Him. Peter was never even in Rome to establish a church there anyway and neither are his bones under the church.

Actually the papacy is founded on a LIE PETER WAS NOT THE FIRST POPE and no one had primacy over the Christian Congregation look in Acts ch 15 when a dispute arose about circumcission di the ask peter what should we do ? NO .!!!!!!!!!!!! isstead read on vs 6 and the Apostles and older men gathered togother to see about this affair then after listening to reports from others James who was chairman of this meeting not the Congregation in vs 13 -22 where after having decided the matter the Apostles and older men togother with the whole Copngregation favored sending chosen men with this decission to the congregations vs 25,28 says for the Holy SPIRIT AND WE OURSELVES have favored adding no further burden to you except theese neccessary things . the catholic church didnt come into being untill 300 years later and pPeter was long dead by that time as were all the Apostles he last one john died in 98C.E two years after finishing writting the book of Revelation so the answer to you question is ABSOLUTELY NOT ...!!!!!!!!!!!!! If Jesus chose Peter to found his church, how come the teachings/beliefs of the current church are Pauline (meaning of the Apostle Paul)? Doesn't this make EVERY Christian a heretic? The NT is full of Paul's writings. Where did all Peter's stuff go?

after I examine those verse i dont see everywhere, the position it says peter is grow to be a pope. James replaced into the bishop in jerusalem, if something, He replaced into the first pope. yet he wasnt a pope, he replaced into the presiding steward over the church. what i do see is jesus asks a question and peter is the purely one which looks to get it astounding. then jesus suggested flesh and blood has no longer printed this to you, notwithstanding the spirit of God (the spirit of revelation) upon this present of the spirit, both prophecy or revelation is the starting up of the church that withstands the conflict from devil. and though i see this interpretation because the majjor actuality, there is yet another intterpretation.

I think you do not understand scripture correctly. Look at this verse.

Matt 16:15-19
"But what about you?" he asked. "Who do you say I am?"

16 Simon Peter answered, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God."

17 Jesus replied, "Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.

18 And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

In this verse Christ uses two very different words when talking to Peter. The word Peter comes from the word "rock". When Christ spoke to Peter He used the word meaning "stone or little rock", When He referred to the confession that Peter had made that Christ was the Son of God He used the word meaning "a large rock".

He was saying you are Peter "the small rock" and on your confession " the BIG rock" I will build my church.

He was telling Peter that Christ's church was to be built on the cornerstone of the CONFESSION of Christ as Messiah. The church was never to have been built on any man let alone Peter.

this is completely unbiblical- we are all called to build his church. Peter may have built the church in Rome but it looked NOTHING like the church that is there today. The Catholic church is not rooted in true Christianity and most of its practices are completely unbiblical. Peter did not teach anythign contrary to what Jesus taught, Jesus is the rock and what the church is supposed to be built on is the truth that He is the promised Messiah, the Son of God, the salvation of mankind. We are grafted into the root- the root is Yeshua who walked perfect Torah and if we are truly following Him we would be walking Torah just as Peter did, not walking paganism as most of Catholicism is .

First of all, Peter was never Pope of the Catholic Church. There are no documents to substantiate that claim. Second, when Jesus said "Upon this Rock I will build My Church", Jesus is the Rock.

Peter was a fisherman. A common man with great faith. He also failed and struggled many times. He was very diligent in church planting and teaching the new beleivers.
The passage can be interpreted that Jesus Church would be built by common people with great faith, who sometimes fail and often struggle.

God is not a respector of persons!
God is even less a respector of peoples' earthly organizations!

He is only building His Church, the Universal Church of all who believe!

just to clear up what some one else said in their "answer"

Some one responded and said: "The Catholic church is not rooted in true Christianity and most of its practices are completely unbiblical."

which is false considering that all other denominations were branched off of the Roman Catholic Church. That is an agreeable fact among Christians and is historically proven. Catholics do not believe that anyone who doesn't believe in Jesus will burn in Hell. As Catholics do believe that the Roman Catholic Church is the true Church, they do not say that other churches are preaching things that are false. Their belief is that other Protestant denominations are true, but that the Catholic Church is the whole truth.
just to clear things up :]

No. The Catholic Chruch teaches:

+ About Non-Catholic Christian Churches +

Many elements of sanctification and of truth are found outside the visible confines of the Catholic Church: the written Word of God; the life of grace; faith, hope, and charity, with the other interior gifts of the Holy Spirit, as well as visible elements.

Christ's Spirit uses these Churches and ecclesial communities as means of salvation, whose power derives from the fullness of grace and truth that Christ has entrusted to the Catholic Church. All these blessings come from Christ and lead to him.

+ About Judaism +

The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant.

To the Jews belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ; for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable.

+ About Islam +

The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind's judge on the last day.

+ About other non-Christian religions +

All nations form but one community. This is so because all stem from the one stock which God created to people the entire earth, and also because all share a common destiny, namely God. His providence, evident goodness, and saving designs extend to all against the day when the elect are gathered together in the holy city.

+ With love in Christ.
