It depends on the individual. I have the same problem. I try to just push them back rather than trim; it seems to work better.

I have monster cuticles!
I was told by a manicurist, that this may be caused by having one's hands frequently in water. I can't verify the accuracy of that statement, as I have always had pronounced cuticles, even from a very young age. I find if I just push them back, they sometimes tear, so I do sometimes have to trim them.
I recently bought a cuticle cream in hopes of taming them a bit. :)

It is normal for your cuticles to grow fast. However it may be a little unhealthy to cut your cuticles. You may get an infection by cutting your cuticles especially if you have it done at a nail salon. Its very unsanitary.

You r cuticle is there to make your nail strong. Cutting the cuticle may weaken your nails. Try pushing them back instead. Try using cuticle oil too.

I also have this problem. I saw this cuticle remover at Bath and Body Works. They also have a 60 second hand scrub that softens your hands. It a sugar scrub.

Same like me ! even after seeing a doctor also like that. Just like you, trim every week. I'll think is OK! After all no pain and just feel a little irritating.
