Try White Bordeaux (Spanish Wines) or red wines like a Pinot Noir or a Beaujolais. These wines go really nice with the turkey and it has been tested and proven. But don't get too heavy with the red wines because it will mask out the flavors of the smoked turkey.

Typically, the rule of thumb is poultry is paired with white wines... but this is a smoked turkey which in my mind is stronger than a roasted turkey.

I'm thinking a Cabernet or a Zinfandel would be a good paring to the strong smokey flavor.

In terms of a white wine, you can go towards a slightly sweeter wine like a Gewurztraminer or a Reisling.

If you have a wine shop in your area, run the smoked turkey by them to get there opinion.

A heavily oaked Chardonnay, it would have to be more than 12months. Also something geared in the old world style. A fruitier chard would clach. Alternitively a good Chablis.

With turkey being a heavy white meat, you could look into a light pinot noir.

Even Freixenet Rosado sparkling. You would be amazed at the resulsts.

I like a nice Petite Syrah or Shiraz (aussie) its full of flavor and goes well with a smoked turkey/chicken/pork. Its a very full flavor so you need to let it breathe quite a bit before you eat (i usually poor out half of it out 20 minutes before eating).

If you don't like bold flavors but something sweet a nice Riesling is good..sweet but its still very nice.

Riesling. (off-dry)
The slightly-sweet fruitiness of Riesling fares very well against smoked meats of any kind.
Get a bottle or two of some red plonk and Chardonnay for the closed-minded types.
