3 finches in hours. they were fine earlier.

Where do you house them?
Teflon, scented candles, or air spray of some sort is all I can think of that would kill so many so fast. Have them necropsied and find out the cause of death. You might be able to save the rest if you can pinpoint the culprit.

Any of the following could cause sudden death: night frights, poisoning, heatstroke, acute disease, coccidiosis, heart attack, stroke, lack of water or food due to introducing a new bird to unfamiliar surroundings late in the day.

There have also been deaths reported in canaries and finches from moth-repellent contaminated seed. You might want to switch food and contact your pet food supplier.

they might have had a terrible shock. they might have been fighting or they were sick but just didn't show signs and then they could not take it anymore, thus died. birds do not show signs of sickness as in the wild, their predators will eat them if they look weak and easy to attack.

maybe one of your neighbours was painting and the fumes got them
was there a storm when they died(they could have got scared from thunder or too cold)
maybe a gas leak

Are hot or cold . are there old. they are beening picked on. they have plenly of food and water. can all them to eat in the cage.
