According to the proposed draft the democrats submitted in 2004, only completing high school would get you out of the draft. When the dems push through the draft this year, it probably will be the same deal.

Physical handicap like flat feet or bad eyesight.
I was just watching the news (Sunday night) and it was announced that some members of Congress are willing to propose the idea of the Draft.
I think children of Congress members should also be included as well.
If you're in college and get drafted,you get a deferrment till you graduate. THEN you go in as an officer.

Me, personally? I'm over age 27.
But- last I checked, there was no draft in the US.
Depending on the necessity, these things have a tendency to change. My father tells a story of getting drafted just after WWII. He had lousy eyes. When he went to his draft board and said- 'What about my eyes"- the response was "that's ok, we'll put you closer to the front so you can see better".

The draft is just like the lotto, everyone puts in their card and if theri number gets picked then they are selected. There were errors where children and females were selected.
Then they ship you out and that's where they determine if they want you. Mental and physical problems, criminal records and if you are gay or not are some ways out of going further down the line.

Any illness's such as epilepsy to my understanding. Also if the guy being drafted is the only male in the house...

The only reasons I remember are:
Poor Health/Bad Eyesight
Insane/Mentally Handicapped
Homosexuality (I think that is no longer in effect, though)
Enrolled in College (May also no longer apply)
