they're called "Phloem bundles"

They are there only to annoy you and now that we know that it's working, we're going to save the really stringy ones for you alone. By the time you get done pulling the strings, there will hardly be a banana underneath.

The strings are called "fibrovascular bundles." They are part of the peel, and they keep it strong. Other plants also have fibrovascular bundles in their leaves, which support the structure of the leaf. I've never given those stringy things much thought, but that's a good question, I'm glad you asked!

Dont know if they have a name but they are harmless so dont worry just pop them off and enjoy the banana.

that stuff is part of the skin they eventually add another layer to the banana making it bigger!
That stuff is so nasty eww
who cares I just get rid of it by peeling if off

lol, those are part of the peeling, that just comes off on the banana. just peel it off before you eat it and you will be fine

They are a result of the peel. and they are not there for any reason. Maybe they are there to gross you out, sorry
