i would like to know how to cut my hair. I am tired of paying 8 dollars a week to get my hair cut to stay within strict military regulations, so i decided to try cutting it myself. I can do really well except for when it comes time to fade my hair, i don't do it well at all !! please help

your best bet is to make an investment in the following:

a tri-fold mirror
a good-quality professional buzzer (Andis Master)

i would assume military regulations require you to keep your hair short, so it shouldnt be too difficult to fade.

i was a licensed barber throughout college, and i got my start by watching barbers cut in the shop while i was twiddling my thumbs in the waiting area. you should watch the way they fade and pick up the technique.

once you think you have the technique down, you are ready to begin. if you have some willing friends, practice on those fools until you get decent.

if you get it down, then you should be able to begin cutting yourself.

the trifold mirror is important because it allows you to see the back of your head while you are fading. just do your best to fade yourself the same as you would fade someone else.

good luck to you man

Ask a friend who works in salon to help you trim and fade your hair.
