OK, Here is a really simple, but good and popular/mainstream meal. It seems you are not looking for creative dishes or anything too labor-intensive. So...
Chicken breasts (split by the meat dept.) with the bone in, skin on:
Preheat the oven to 375 F. Line a cookie sheet or jelly roll pan with foil, place the chicken breasts on the foil. Make sure they aren't too packed onto the pan.
Sprinkle each breast on both sides with black pepper and some garlic salt.
Bake about 25-40 minutes. Depending on how big the chicken pieces are. You can test one by inserting a meat thermometer, or by taking it out and letting it sit a couple minutes, make a slice and see if the juice runs clear. If the juice is pinkish, chances are that you need to bake it a while longer.
While the chicken is baking, get a box of bisquick, measure out the ingredients for biscuits, line another cookie sheet with foil, spray it with canned cooking spray. Into the dough, add shreaded cheddar cheese and some garlic powder. Maybe 2/3 cup of cheese and 7 or 8 long shakes of garlic. Place egg sized globs of the dough on the baking pan and make sure not to put more than 12 or so biscuits on one pan.
Have the biscuits ready to go...as soon as the chicken comes out of the oven, turn the temp. up t0 450 and put the biscuits right into the oven. You don't have to wait for it to preheat.
Set a timer for8 minutes. You might have to cook them for a little longer but you can check after 8 minutes.
Also while the chicken is baking, cut the ends off of some fresh green beans, cover them with water, boil until tender. Top with butter and S & P if you like.
Simple but tasty and no strange ingredients.

Kay, my first thought was pizza: it would take care of the main dish, veggies are on it (and you could always serve it with some peppercini peppers), and the crust is bread, but it sounds like your teach sucks and may not like the shortcut. So, here is something. It's a Cuban Sandiwch which is freakin' sweet. Make the hoagies, and you have the bread. Serve with some Spicy Cuban Black bean Salsa with chips, and yum! Hey, if you made the chips yourself, you could probably skip making the hoagies yourself. Up to you. (If you make chips, slice tortillas, spray with cooking spray, salt them, and bake at 350 F for about 8 minutes)
4 hoagie rolls
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
1/4 lb baked ham, thinly sliced
1/4 lb roast pork, thinly sliced
1/4 lb provolone cheese, thinly sliced
10 thin dill pickle slices, approximately 2 whole pickles (or you can use the sandwhich stackers)
1 tablespoon unsalted butter, room temperature
1. Slice the bread horizontally in half, leaving 1 edge intact.
2. Lay the bread open and spread each side with the mustard.
3. Divide the ingredients evenly among the slices of roll.
4. Start with the ham followed by the pork, cheese, and dill pickles.
5. Bring the tops and bottoms together.
6. Heat your panini maker or sandwich press.
7. Butter each side of the press.
8. Place the sandwiches inside, press down and grill until the cheese is melted and the bread is flat and browned, approximately 10 minutes.
9. If you don't have a sandwich press, you can heat 6 fireplace bricks wrapped in foil, in a 500 degrees F oven for 1 hour and then press the sandwich between them for 10 minutes.
10. Serve warm.
========================

1 7/8-2 cups all-purpose flour
1. In a mixing bowl, dissolve the yeast in 1/2°C warm water add 1 T. Sugar let stand about 5 minutes.
2. Add remaining water and sugar. Beat in oil, salt and 4 cups flour until smooth. Stir in enough flour to form a soft dough.
3. Turn onto a floured board. Knead until smooth and elastic for about 6-8 minutes.
4. Place in a greased bowl turning once to grease the top.
5. Cover and let rise 45 minutes.
6. Punch dough down. Turn onto a lightly floured board, divide into 18 pieces.
7. Shape into an oval.
8. Place 2 inches apart on a greased baking sheets.
9. With scissors cut a 1/4 in slash across the top of each.
10. Cover and let rise 20 minutes.
11. Bake at 400 for 13-18 minutes until golden brown.
12. Remove to wire racks to cool.
===================

A "gay" project, my dear one? What the heck does that mean? May I suggest roast chicken with rosemary and citrus, a home-made hearty white rolls with butter (of course) and citrus glazed steamed carrots. Easy, affordable and tasty. For dessert I would recommend something light such as Lemon or orange Italian gelato. Good luck.

"Gay Project" You should be shot for saying an uneducated statement like that! I mean it is the year 2006 and yet there are so many ding bats like you running about! Get over yourself and respect others properly. Use your own imagination for your little *cough* cooking project....Hope you burn yourself!
