Put it on her in the house and let her drag it around (with supervision of course) but if you put it on her and she bucks and acts wild if you just keep walking and ignore her little fit she will walk on it in no time.

The earlier the better. They always freak out at first, and there you'll be, dragging your puppy down the road... Lol. Try this. It worked for our Rottie. When you're at home, where the dog is comfortable, put the leash on her and let her walk around by her self without you holding onto the leash. Remember to not leave her unattended though. Let her play with the leash. This will show her that the leash is nothing to fear. Then when she seems to be getting used to the idea of having it attached to her collar, start to pick up the leash as she follows you arround the house. Keep a very light hold on the leash, so if she pulls, there will be no resistance. Once she lets you pick up the leash and walk even as little as 2 feet, praise her and if possible, give her a small treat. If that doen't work, try holing the leash in your hand and a treat in the other. Let her see that you have a treat for her and begin to extend your hand outward. When she moves forward towards the treat, move with her. Still keeping a light hold on the leash. And remember to do these traing steps in your home where your dog is most comfortable. Keep her eye on the treat and she will barely notice that there is a leash attached to her. If she starts to pull, remind her of the treat in your hand and coax her forward again. And last note: make sure you are using a treat that she LOVES!

Attach the leash to the collar while she is in the house but do not hold it. Let her drag it behind her be sure to watch that she doesn't get caught on anything. After she gets use to this for a few days pick up the leash and walk with her where she wants. Then take her outside and let her lead you around. Once she is comfortable with this you can start guiding her into a heal position. Consider a basic obedience class or even better a Puppy Kindergarten class these are invaluable for teaching the basics.

If a dog has not been trained at an early stage they will freak out.You want to start out slow, put the leash on her,but let her run around with you.Once she gets used to the leash following her around try holding the leash. You want to do this about an hour a day for the first week, then add an hour each week, until she gets used to it,then walk around the yard with her with the leash on,don't rush it, it will take time for her to get use to it.

get a book on dog training. Buy a choker collar and a leash. If you follow the instructions on dog training, she will have her commands down quickly, learn to love the leash, because that means a walk. You have waited a long time to start training, do not waste any more time...most dogs can be fully trained by 10 weeks if done correctly. Good luck.

Guide her attention away from the leash. Use treats and stick to the business at hand. You might want to even walk her around on a leash in the house. Make it a enjoyable experience and be patient with her. She will eventually give to it. Good luck!

First few times, she'll freak out. What you do, is put the leash on her, while in the backyard. Do not hold the leash, but just let her walk around with it on, for then she knows it's not harming her. Then hold it, but let her go where she wants. Work your way up to controlling where she goes.

try tying a string to her collar when she's just hanging around the house. Gradually make it a longer and longer string, then a rope, etc. If you work up to it, the leash will feel natural and she won't know the difference. Good luck.
