Has any body ever been blinded by a laser pointer.?

I want one but my mom wont let me unless there is proof that they cant blind people. I would like a link if possible.

I've never heard of this happening. I just know they are dang annoying at movie theaters. Presumably, like any bright light, over-exposure to the eye is probably not good, like staring at a lightbulb.

No way. The light is nowhere near strong enough to blind you.
